Our terroir

The Languedoc-Roussillon region

A land of light and contrasts, Languedoc-Roussillon is shaped by sun, wind and the Mediterranean Sea. Here, vines have taken root for centuries across a remarkable diversity of soils — from wild garrigue and stony hillsides to sun-drenched plains.

Under a warm, dry climate, softened by sea breezes and inland winds, grapes ripen slowly, developing richness, balance and aromatic intensity. This natural harmony gives rise to generous, expressive wines, deeply marked by their place of origin.

Limestone, schist, clay and rolled pebbles form a true mosaic of terroirs. A unique geological richness that allows each grape variety to reveal its personality, and each cuvée to express a distinct nuance of the region.

Just inland from the Mediterranean, around Montpellier, winegrowing villages continue a heritage passed down through generations. A patient, precise savoir-faire, guided by close observation of the land and deep respect for the living world.

Les Bertholets collection is part of this living story. It pays tribute to the men and women who cultivate the vine with passion, year after year year — making wine far more than a product: an expression of terroir, a culture, an emotion.

Here, our region is meant to be tasted, not told.
